The Remodel

As recently promised, here are some updated pictures of what has gone on with the house. There's still a lot of odds and ends we're working on and we haven't even touched the basement! But here are some photos of what we have done so far. I didn't include our bedroom or the guest bedroom. Jared has recently become the new scout master in our ward and the guest bedroom has become scout headquarters. It was full of flags and manuals and such.. Just not ready for a photo op. As for our bedroom.... eh, none of the photos I took turned out so good, so I decided not to include them. It's actually quite hard to take photos of bedrooms. I have a new respect for real estate photos.

The Kitchen, we haven't been able to afford knobs on the cabinets yet since
we're paying for the remodel as we go, but they'll be coming soon

This is the dining area, eventually I'll refinish our little
table but haven't been up to it yet....

This is the front room.

The little bathroom....

This is my special room with my piano and
my sewing stuff, not quite organized yet, but I'm not planning
on it being a real tidy area.....

and this is a shot of how refinishing the hardwood
floors turned out. Montey wanted to be in the photo so bad.
I couldn't get him to move.
We recently had a BBQ to celebrate moving in with all our family
so the rest is photos of everybody hanging out.

Little Abby, who is now a blooming Xcountry star! She ran varsity
in a race today with 3 different schools and took first! As a
Sophomore! Good job Abby!!

Our niece Brooklyn
(hanging like someone..the Thornley family knows who we're talking about)

Our nephew Gage, smiling for the camera..

And little Montey, begging everybody for food, the little turd. The End

The House

A little update on what's been going on lately. A ton! I feel like I've been working in a psych hospital instead of a nursing home. Things have been pretty crazy lately, but I guess it keeps life interesting. It worries me a little that nothing shocks me anymore. It's scary the things I'm used to. I've just been working a ton between the hospital and nursing home. Jared just started school again and has been working a lot on the house. We're finally moved in! We're still living in a bit of a construction zone but it's nice to be out on our own.

There are a few things we miss about living with Jared's mom's. Food, Disney channel, internet, washer and dryer, couches, dishwasher... just to name a few. But, I'm enjoying myself tonight. Jared is the new scoutmaster, so while he's away on a campout, I'm spending the night at Terry's, using the internet, and watching Disney. Hopefully everything will settle down soon and we'll start to be less crazy. I've finally posted some pictures of the house. These were taken during construction so these are the before pictures I'll post the after pictures once we're all unpacked. Lata
This is the side, all the front on pictures made it look so grandma house....

This is the studio out-back.. Jared's grandpa said we should rent it out.. Living in Ogden, I don't think that should be too hard.

This is the back view of the house...

Another view of the side..

This is the original fridge from the 40's or 50's still being used. this picture is not sideways.. the fridge was built in like a cupboard and opened into these three compartments...

This is what was underneath the carpet in the hall... brick patterned linoleum...Definitely loved it,wanted to keep it but Jared refused...whatever, you just can't find quality like this anymore...

This is what the original hardwood floors looked like once we got all the linoleum peeled off...

And, last of all, the kitchen! TaDa!
Renovation pictures coming soon....

wedding..job...house..car...

So, It's been a long time since I blogged, a lot has been going on in my life, but I've purposefully been putting off telling anybody about it. So, first things first, Katie is getting married! Yay! I'm way excited for her, they're getting married the end of July. I posted the invite for her bridal shower below. I tried to send out invites to everyone, but it's so hard to find everybody's address. So, if you're a friend or family member, and haven't yet received this, consider yourself invited, and please accept my apology for not getting one to you.

Okay so, second news, Because I had three jobs, I thought it would be a great idea to get another... so I did. I am happy to anounce I received to social work position for Manor Care. It's a nursing home here in South Ogden. It's such a great opportunity and I feel so lucky that I received it. I'm totally loving it. The residents are so cute and funny. Unfortunately, I'm officially retired from Olive Garden and Farmington Bay... Well Farmington Bay "terminated" me, whatever that means :) because I wouldn't ever work for anybody. I don't think Juvenile Justice was for me. So, it's now down to two jobs, McKay Dee and Manor Care. Both are great and I'm loving what I do.

Okay, last news, I've purposefully not told anybody about this... So Jared and I bought a house...We're way excited but we don't close until next Thursday, so I don't want to talk about it until after then just in case everything doesn't go through.. Once it does, I'll post pictures and talk all about it.. Same goes for the car...

So, when I blog stalk, I don't really like to read everything people write, so for those of you like me, this post sucks so far. So, to end it off I posted some of my bridal pictures. I haven't yet posted any wedding pictures so this is a start. For those of you that do read this stuff, let me tell you about it. My mom was so sweet to offer to make my dress for me so it was unique and special. Unfortunately, just like me, she's a procrastinator, so we did not have any time to have professional pictures done. These pictures were taken by my very talented aunt, just a few days before the wedding. I'm pinned into the dress standing on a hill by my parent's house. It was pretty dark outside, so my parents drove their cars up the hill and shined headlights on me for lighting. So exciting! That's all for now!

ZzZzZzZz...

I'm EXHAUSTED more than I've ever been beore. My mind is so tired I can hardly form sentences. My vocabulary has decreased drastically. I've lost my ability to spell (something that has always been a real pet peeve of mine). My limbs droop so much I'm shrinking. So tired, it took me twenty minutes to write this paragraph. I worked twelve hours yesterday. Slept for four, followed by another eight hour shift.
What's going on? I'm happy. My career choice has finally been reaffirmed to me. I was in the emergency room until two AM on my first solo trauma call. I was overwhelmed with adrenaline. I was lost and for the first half hour I stood by the desk trying to stop my shaking hands as my stabbing victim was stableized (don't remember how to spell that right now)... You're wondering, what kind of person am I to be so excited someone got stabbed. I'm not. I'm excited because I did my job and I did it well. I obtained information, I took reports, I spoke with families, I filled out hours worth of paperwork. But, I helped somebody. This is what I am supposed to do. I am exhausted but i am fulfilled. Now, it's off to bed so I can get up early to go to work....

I've been tagged! OKAY, not really, I just saw these tags on other people's blogs and wanted to feel included, so I tagged myself :) This is the 4th photo in my 4th folder. I tag everybody, and will someone please tag me for real?! Then I won't be such a loser.
